No turning chairs, no auditorium, and no audience to entertain. But yes, auditions are up and running-this is casting call. We are preparing for the best event ever in ENAD and we need everyone to participate. Can you guess what it is? Read on.
That is right; from weekly worship services to prayer meetings, church classes, workshops, fellowship games, or simply having C.O.R.E. Group meetings. Every time we come together and serve God and others, our service becomes our worship to Him.
In Corinthians, we find that the church is being likened to a human body that has many parts with different functions. Every part is important for the body to become whole. God has arranged the parts just as He wanted them to be. Just like you, He has divinely placed you here for a reason. This is your spiritual family. As we are part of the Body of Christ, we then have different roles to play in doing the good works He has prepared for us to do. It is only natural to share chores within the family members, isn’t it? When we do it for God, no task is more significant than the other. In God’s family, no person is more important than the other. The truth of the matter is God thinks you are special enough to give you the most special to Him- His Son. When you put your faith in Jesus, He gives you at least one spiritual gift. Not only that, His Spirit is with you. That makes you a VIP. You are a very important person who can contribute something. Individually, with God-given gifts, we can do good things. Together, we can do great things through the power of God at work within us.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV
In these blind auditions, talents, skills, or intelligence are not the main criteria but a servant heart. It is about the gratefulness in your heart that makes you offer your body as a living sacrifice- your proper worship to the Lord. His seat will not turn for you; He actually left it once to choose you and serve you. While we were still sinners, He died for us. Jesus not only showed us how to serve but empowers us too. Let us then serve God and serve one another for God’s glory.
Too many times God has used unqualified men and women in advancing His kingdom to show us that He qualifies the called and that His grace abounds in obedience. You could be the next. Happy auditioning!
